H3O is an organization developed by two Central Illinois area women in the fall of 2003. Marlene Pegg Adams and Linda Heston have a heart for Haiti’s children and a vision to educate them. They believe the best way to break the cycle of poverty in Haiti is through education. Through education they hope to provide opportunities and skills to those who have no other hope.
Our focus is to partner with other people in the communities of our country to educate as many children as possible in Haiti.
We believe that breaking the cycle of poverty involves more than just providing the basic necessities. Children need education and opportunities to learn skills to lead productive, sustainable lives..
Sponsoring a child is not about handouts; it’s about transforming the lives of children and providing opportunities for a hopeful future. Rather than focusing on the needs of the community, H3O’s focus is based on the children we serve by meeting their individual needs and that of their families. We know each child and his or her family and see that the sponsorship money goes directly to that family. We seek to achieve a program that has more personal contact and communication between the child and the sponsoring family, giving more opportunity for the sponsor to develop closer ties with the child they are helping. Your sponsorship will profoundly change the future of your own life as you reach out in love to a child in need. We realize there are no easy answers, but everything BIG is achieved through small steps.
I am only one, but still I am one.
I cannot do everything, but still I can do something;
And because I cannot do everything,
I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.
